Unusual and Designer Lighting
Nut Pendant
Lending an uncommon lightness and dynamic form to wood veneer is the
Nut Pendant Lamp (2002) by Ray Power.
Nut Sconce
By applying a thin sheet of natural cherry or white ash veneer over
a polyester film backing, Power has achieved a perfect knotted form
that provides both direct and indirect lighting. Compact enough to
use in multiples, the Pendant makes a graceful statement over a
dining table or in a small entryway
Square Light Pendant
Measuring more than a square foot, this stately pendant (1998) by
Marcel Wanders is a versatile and affordable lighting solution for
homes, offices and restaurants. Able to illuminate large dining and
conference tables, countertops and lounge areas, the Square Light
Pendant sheds a crisp white light or a soft, slightly umber light,
depending on the color of the shade.
Oval Pendant Light
As daring as he is, Dutch designer Marcel Wanders never loses sight
of sophistication and function, as evidenced in the Oval Pendant
Light (1998). Dramatic in scale (nearly 3.5 feet long), the Oval
provides sufficient lighting for midsized dining rooms and counter
areas. The shade blends in with virtually any environment and
features a white or silver interior to maximize light intensity.
Precise seams and edges underline the design’s refined aesthetic.

Nelson Crisscross Pendant
The tautly stretched plastic polymer emphasizes the simple forms and
sculptural qualities of the lamps.
Artichoke Lamp - Large
The consummate modernist chandelier, Poul Henningsen’s Artichoke
Lamp (1958) measures nearly three feet in width and is composed of
layers of overlapping “leaves”, which produce crisp, glare-free
light from 360 degrees. Each leaf is laser-cut for precision and is
configured by hand. The small Artichoke is aptly suited to a dining
room, entryway or reception desk
Cortina Floor Lamp
Defined by a structural and material simplicity, the Cortina Floor
Lamps and Table Lamp (2000) by Pablo Pardo simultaneously contain
and diffuse light.
Ambiente Suspension Lamp
There is no other material that could provide such a beautiful
quality of light and clarity as does glass in the graceful Ambiente
Lamps. The lamps’ flawless handblown diffusers feature dual surfaces
of clear and frosted glass for a soft illumination that is
punctuated by crisp upward lighting from the pendant and glare-free
direct lighting from the base of the table lamp.
