Cleaning Brass
For your brass door knobs or other brass pieces these recipes work great

1. Wash with weak ammonia solution to remove light dirt.
2. Dampen a soft cloth with hot white vingear dip it in salt and rub the brass

Cleaning Silver

1. Aluminum foil - Water
   1 tsp baking soda
   1 tsp salt
   Lay foil in bottom of pot.  Cover with a few inches of water.  Add salt and baking soda.  Boil.  Add silver and simmer.  Rinse.
2. Use non-gel toothpaste - Dab on tarnish and rub in.  Rinse and dry.
3. Coat heavily tarnished items with a paste of baking soda and water.  Let sit for a few hours.  Rinse with hot water.  Dry and polish to

General Cleaners that you can mix and keep in a spray bottle

2 tsp borax
1/2 tsp liquid dish soap
2 cups warm water

1 quart warm water
1 Tbs lemon oil

Carpet Cleaners

1. Saturate fresh stain with lemon juice and scrub
2. Saturate fresh stain with club soda and scrub
3. 1/2 cup ivory soap flakes to 1 cup boiling water
   Apply to stains with clean cloth.  Let dry.  Use a clena damp cloth to remove soap residue.
